It’s often overlooked for its fancier retro sister, the Z900 RS, but Kawasaki’s Z900 is a big hit with its owners, and sits nicely inbetween the mental supercharged Z H2 and the smaller Z650 twin naked.
It’s been overlooked a bit by Kawasaki too arguably: But no longer. For 2025, the 124bhp inline-four 948cc motor gets ride-by-wire fuel injection, the ancient axial-mount front brake calipers are finally binned in favour of proper radial-mount parts, and there’s an IMU-based suite of electronic rider aids.
You also get a new 5in TFT colour LCD dashboard that includes navigation functions, plus cruise control and an up/down quickshifter.

As ever, Kawasaki’s also offering an SE version, which features an Öhlins rear shock with remote preload adjuster and Brembo radial monobloc calipers with Brembo discs. No price as we went to press, but the Z900 will be in the shops in March.
