Heated visor insert specialist VISIN has added three new helmet-specific inserts to its line-up. Joining the universal-fit sport and enduro inserts, as well as the Shoei helmet-specific inserts, are the brand-new fitments for the Shoei Hornet ADV and the Arai Tour-X4 and Tour-X5.
The new inserts are welcome news to adventure helmet fans and, being visor-specific, they further up the game in ensuring clear vision for riders. The key difference is that they cover more of the visor than the universal fits, granting the rider greater field of vision as the insert is de-fogging the entirety of the visor. And the difference is significant: Compared to the universal enduro insert, the new Hornet ADV insert covers 27.5% more of the visor, and the Tour-X5 goes even further giving you a massive 56% more vision, a difference appreciated especially in the area of peripheral vision.
The helmets receiving the new inserts have been chosen with care. The Shoei Hornet ADV and the Arai Tour-X4 have been among the most popular adventure helmets for years. Owned and loved by many, these helmets are popular for off-road and extreme riding, making it a perfect match for a heated insert.

Released earlier this year, the Arai Tour-X5 is replacing the popular Tour-X4. Building on the reputation of the previous model’s comfortable fit and versatile use, the Tour-X5 boasts a Max Vision visor, giving the rider a larger field of vision. The new visor allowed VISIN to create its largest heated insert to date, with the insert made to use all the space available in the new design, allowing riders to make the most of the large visor.
All three inserts work with the existing controller/battery pack, so if you already own a kit, there is no need to purchase a new one – all you need is the new visor insert, which will work seamlessly with your existing system. VISIN’s aim is to keep things compatible as much as possible to ensure that all VISIN customers can keep using and upgrading VISIN kits as new and better products come out.

The visor inserts are the most visible part of the VISIN system, but they are not the only area of development. For the style-conscious, there is a new black battery pack available. And the technology marches on too: As the visors get larger, so does the time taken to clear them, and for this reason, VISIN will be increasing the boost mode time by 50%, giving the insert that extra push needed to clear the visor as quickly and efficiently as possible. With the release of this new update, VISIN will also be inviting anyone with a current battery pack to have their pack updated free of charge.
