As excitement grows for the upcoming season opener at the renowned Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Australia next month, Yamaha Motor Europe has announced its rider line-up for the 2025 FIM Superbike World Championship.
The 2025 season for the Pata Maxus Yamaha WorldSBK Official Team and GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team will have a familiar rider line-up consisting of four world champions riding the Yamaha R1. No changes have been made to the teams’ line-ups.
As we reach 2025, it’s a special milestone for Pata Snack, Yamaha Motor Europe, and the Crescent Yamaha team. These three powerhouses have joined forces on the WorldSBK project for a decade and achieved countless triumphs. This includes sweeping the rider, team, and manufacturer championships in 2021.

After completing a successful year of learning with the R1 and the official Yamaha team, six-time world champion Jonathan Rea is back for a second season. Despite already securing his place as the most successful rider in WorldSBK history, the 37-year-old remains determined to improve and return to the front of the pack in 2025.
Once again, the Northern Irishman is teaming up with 2020 Supersport world champion Andrea Locatelli. Together, they are determined to continue their progress and strive for more podium success in the upcoming season. In 2024, the 28-year-old achieved five podium finishes, nearly clinching his first WorldSBK win in the opening race at Phillip Island.
Remy Gardner and Dominique Aegerter are joining forces with GYTR GRT Yamaha for the third year in a row. Excited and motivated, they are ready to kick off the new season. Gardner, crowned Moto2 World Champion in 2021, secured his first WorldSBK podium in 2024 and is determined to consistently challenge for top spots in 2025. Despite struggling with illness and injuries in 2024, two-time Supersport World Champion Aegerter is eager to regain the form that had him consistently vying for top-six finishes in 2023.
Leading up to the ultimate European competition in Portimão, the veils have been lifted from the R1 bikes that Rea, Locatelli, Gardner, and Aegerter will be ridden for the 2025 season.
For the tenth year in a row, Pata Snack will continue to serve as the title sponsor for Yamaha’s official WorldSBK squad. Their recognizable logo will once again be featured not only on the team’s bikes, but also on the R1s raced by the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.
Pata’s esteemed collaboration with Yamaha spans all categories, as the Italian snack company also serves as the primary sponsor for the Pata Yamaha Ten Kate WorldSSP Supported Team.
The Harris Group’s commercial vehicle distribution brand in the UK and Ireland, Harris MAXUS, has been announced as the co-title partner for the Official Yamaha WorldSBK Team for both the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
